About Richard

Hi, I’m Richard, the creator of The Plain Bagel. I’m a finance enthusiast living in Ottawa, Canada who has a passion for teaching and video editing.

A bit about myself; I’m currently an investment analyst for WDS Investment Management, a small wealth manager in Ottawa that’s been in business since 2002, and I’m working towards becoming a portfolio manager (i.e. directly investing money for clients). Outside of the world of investments, I’m a loving husband, board game connoisseur, and pub trivia player (though honestly I’m pretty bad).

For the channel, I do all the script writing, editing, animation, and…hosting? Yeah, sure, we’ll go with that.

About Craig

Hi, I’m Craig. I’m the off-screen voice heard in the Q&A videos and the person behind the camera in most of the other ones.

I’m a journalist working in Ottawa covering the business scene in Canada’s capital. I do that as the editor of the Ottawa Business Journal, a website and news magazine that’s been running for the past 25 years. As part of that work I also focus on Ottawa’s startup ecosystem with my own YouTube series, Techopia Live, where I interview Ottawa tech executives about their companies and the local sector. Outside of that I run a lot of Dungeons & Dragons games for friends and teach the game to youth. And I’m about on par with Richard’s pub trivia acumen.

For the channel, I do the filming and other production work.
